Second Sonigram Pictures
Well we finally got to go to our second sonigram. This one was the one were we could find out the sex of our baby. Apparently our little one is a fiesty bugger because the doctor could not figure it out. He said our baby was very active and never seperated his/her legs. So we will have a mystery baby!
The baby is healthy so that is all we are concerned about. You can check out the pictures on the pix page or just click on the image.
Why do people switch to Linux?
There was some interesting comments in this article about users switching to linux. Makes me think back to when I started using linux for the first time in 1997. It was RedHat 5.2 disk I got from Sams Learn Linux in 24 hours. I’ve had to use other OSs since, but have been using linux as my main OS every since.
During the last month, we conducted a survey of readers who use Linux. We asked them why they switched to Linux and received a plethora of answers. Surprisingly, anti-Microsoft sentiment had less to do with the choice than one might imagine.
Ebay bans other payment processors, only PayPal is allowed.
eBay has revised its policies to only allow one online payment service, PayPal. This comes after speculation that Google is preparing a payment service. So far the reaction among eBay users has been mixed.
I think this is just wrong. Ebay should allow any online payment service not just PayPal. Especially since they own PayPal. If they didn’t own them it would be another story. Put another reason not to use Ebay/Paypal up on the board.

Want to learn Chinese?
I have always wanted to learn Chinese. Maybe it’s because half of the world’s population speaks a form of Chinese, but it has always interested me. I found a wikibook called Chinese (Mandarin) that has 9 lessons on learning Mandarin Chinese (a traditional Chinese dialect). There are also alot of other great books at WikiBooks. Check it out and post here what you find in the comments.
Browsershots.org – see your site in different browsers
In our dreams, the web looks good for all users. So we let web designers view screenshots of their pages in different browsers, at different screen resolutions and with different plugins. We’re trying to make this service easy to use, open for all (including access to the source code) and 100% free, as in free beer.
This is awesome! I thought of this idea a couple of weeks ago. Guess I need to act on more ideas I have lol.
Why scientists dismiss “intelligent design.”
This is the quote from the digg.com article:
Why? It isn’t science.
An interesting read that says intelligent design (ID), or a creator (ie God), is bogus basically because it is not interesting.
It’s interesting how the author looks at ID in an almost positive spin then argues against IDs two main arguments: irreducible complexity and specified complexity.
There is another article from the same author that pretty much attacks ID again.
I also found a 4 part series arguing the creation/ID side of things which is also an interesting read and references the previous article.
There are interesting points from both sides, but I’m still amazed at how someone can right of an intelligent creator just because it’s not as interesting as evolution.
