Found this link today that talked about having his and hers iPods filled with the proofs from the wedding and music or even video. Sounds like a great idea to offer for my photography clients at their wedding. It could be either the video iPod or the iPod nano depending on how much they want to pay.
mtink: Status Monitor for EPSON inkjet printers
I found a great little print monitor for linux called mtink. It works great for my Epson Stylus Photo 825 printer when hooked up via usb and I can reset, clean, and nozzle check the printer all from this little program. If using my particular printer you will need to select the Stylus Photo printer as the option because the 825 is not specifically handled, but most other models are.
Free iPod: Almost There!
So I now have 4 referrals of the 5 total needed to get a free 30GB black video iPod. I am SOOOOOO close I can smell it. Most of the referrals I have gotten were ones that bought ink for around $30. I have gotten the free ink options a couple of times and it works great on my printers. Click on the image to see how close I am and then click on the link below to sign up to freeipods.com. Thanks!
Basheema Aflad – Prank Call
My buddy Shane was a bit mischevious today. He was asked by his friend, Tracy, to call up the survey company were he works and place a prank call. Listen to the hilarious conversion. My wife and I were in tears.
Thinkpads Get a Dual Core Upgrade!
So I’m still looking into getting a new laptop sometime and they just keep getting better. These new Thinkpad notebooks look sweet. You can even vote if you want a black or titanium one. I voted black. Classic and elegant, but I will say titanium makes it look like a sexy mac powerbook. Aahh the choices.
Lenovo has revealed two new Thinkpad Notebooks at CES today. The new models, T60, X60 and X60s, both have Intel’s new Dual Core Duo processors.

One more heart that was stopped
Month One
Mommy, I am only 8 inches long, but I have all my organs. I love the sound of
your voice. Every time I hear it, I wave my arms and legs. The sound of your
heart beat is my favorite lullaby.
Month Two
Mommy, today I learned how to suck my thumb. If you could see me, you could
definitely tell that I am a baby. I’m not big enough to survive outside my home
though. It is so nice and warm in here.
Month Three
You know what Mommy, I’m a girl !! I hope that makes you happy. I always want
you to be happy. I don’t like it when you cry. You sound so sad. It makes me sad
too, and I cry with you even though you can’t hear me.
Month Four
Mommy, my hair is starting to grow. It is very short and fine, but I will have a
lot of it. I spend a lot of my time exercising. I can turn my head and curl my
fingers and toes, and stretch my arms and legs. I am becoming quite good at it
too.

Huge Discovery by Scientists on How Cancer Spreads
“Scientists have discovered how cancer spreads from a primary site to other places in the body in a finding that could open doors for new ways of treating and preventing advanced disease.”
“Instead of a cell just breaking off from a tumor and traveling through the bloodstream to another organ where it forms a secondary tumour, or metastasis, researchers in the United States have shown that the cancer sends out envoys to prepare the new site.”
Very interesting article. This could potentially be a very postitive new discovery in the world of medicine.
Windows XP Network Problem Solver
I have a client who has 3 Windows XP home computers. They were sharing Quickbooks Pro across these three by using one computer as a “server”. Well this “server” ended up getting multiple trojans, viruses and spyware installed onto it making it non accessible from the other 2 machines. We ended up working a few hours off and on each day for the past week trying to get this thing back on-line. We used HP’s recovery partion, XP’s restore point, and many other winsock and network reset utilities to no-avail. It wasn’t until I broke down and took the computer home did I stumble upon the Windows XP Network Problem Solver page by Hans-Georg Michna tht I was able to crack this problem. This computer was having the infamous “Logon failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.” message when connecting from another PC. It wasn’t until I followed the instructions of the aformentioned page did I fix this problem. Here is the code (note: you must first download the “Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit” to use the ntrights utility. See the link above for instructions)
net user guest /active:yes
ntrights +r SeNetworkLogonRight -u Guest
ntrights -r SeDenyNetworkLogonRight -u Guest
So simple and intuitive right? It had to be done because XP Home as limitations on networking built in that XP Pro does not. The moral of this story has two parts: 1) Always use XP pro in a networked, business, or home office environment and 2) never do work for a client who is having file sharing and networking issues in XP Home MAKE them upgrade or tell them to call someone else!
